On December 26, 1996, 6-year-old beauty pageant star JonBenét Ramsey was found murdered in the basement of her family’s Boulder, Colorado home. A ransom note demanding $118,000 was discovered hours earlier, but no kidnapping occurred. JonBenét had been strangled with a garrote, suffered a skull fracture, and showed signs of sexual assault. Despite extensive investigation, touch DNA evidence, and numerous theories—including family involvement and intruder scenarios—the case remains unsolved nearly 30 years later, with Boulder Police continuing active DNA testing in 2025.
